Visit Little Rome is an independent travel website dedicated to Trnava and its surroundings. Its aim is to introduce Slovak and international visitors to a city that offers much more than just a short stop between Bratislava and other tourist destinations.
Trnava is one of Slovakia’s most important historic cities. Its historic centre, city walls, churches, City Tower and other monuments have earned it the nickname Little Rome, which also inspired the name of the project.
Visit Little Rome, however, is not focused only on the city’s best-known landmarks. The website gradually introduces interesting places, attractions, local gastronomy, accommodation, events and ideas for trips in Trnava and the wider region.
Who is behind Visit Little Rome
Visit Little Rome was founded and is run by Milan Urgošík, a native of Trnava who was born in the city in 1999 and has spent most of his life there.
He therefore knows Trnava not only as a tourist destination, but above all as his home. The project combines local pride, an interest in history and travel, and professional experience in creating editorial content.
Milan Urgošík works professionally in journalism, copywriting and online media. He currently works as a web editor for the Slovak business newspaper Hospodárske noviny at HNonline.sk, where his work also includes travel-related topics. He previously worked for Kanal1.sk and is also the creator of the content project prirodne-smart.sk.
He uses his media experience to create content for Visit Little Rome that is accurate, clear and practically useful for people visiting the city.
Why Visit Little Rome was created
The aim of the project is to introduce Trnava to both domestic and international visitors and help them discover its historic centre, monuments and atmosphere, as well as places beyond the best-known tourist routes.
Visit Little Rome also covers the wider region, including natural attractions, ideas for day trips and recreation, and other places worth discovering.
The website is created directly in Trnava, with content based on local knowledge, personal experience and professional editorial work.
