You can stay right in the historic centre, just steps from the main sights, or in quieter residential neighbourhoods away from the busiest streets.
Whether you are planning a romantic weekend, a family trip with children, a business trip or a longer stay, it pays to consider location and facilities as well as price when choosing accommodation in Trnava. We have put together an overview of hotels, guesthouses and apartments to help you find somewhere that suits your needs.

Self-contained flats and apartment accommodation offering greater privacy, your own kitchen and space for a longer stay.
Hotels and guesthouses in Trnava
Hotels and guesthouses are a good option for visitors who appreciate convenience and do not want to worry about the day-to-day practicalities of their stay. In addition to rooms, larger city hotels may offer buffet breakfasts, on-site restaurants, lobby bars, wellness facilities, fitness centres and conference rooms. They are therefore popular with both tourists and business travellers.
Smaller hotels and family-run guesthouses usually offer a more intimate atmosphere and personal service. They may still provide comfortable rooms, breakfast, parking or an on-site restaurant. Your choice will largely depend on whether you prioritise a wider range of services, a quieter setting or the best possible price.
Hotels and guesthouses in Trnava city centre
Staying in the historic centre has one major advantage: most of the city’s main landmarks and attractions are within walking distance. From the City Tower and Holy Trinity Square to important churches, restaurants, cafés and bars, you can explore without needing a car or public transport.
The centre is also appealing in the evening, when the streets and squares fill with people visiting outdoor terraces, restaurants and cultural events. If you want to enjoy the atmosphere of historic Trnava to the fullest, this is a natural choice. Before booking, however, check parking options and, if you are staying on a busier street, which way your room faces.
Holiday Inn Trnava
This four-star hotel on Hornopotočná Street is one of Trnava’s most fully equipped accommodation options. It offers modern rooms, the Culinaria restaurant, a lobby bar, a fitness centre and wellness facilities with saunas and whirlpools. Hotels and guesthouses outside the historic centre
If you prefer quieter surroundings or do not need to stay right among the historic landmarks, there are attractive options beyond Trnava’s old town. Some hotels and guesthouses are in residential neighbourhoods where parking may be easier and there is less noise from nightlife or cultural events.
Accommodation outside the historic core can also be more affordable, although this depends on the property and travel dates. Trnava is a relatively compact city, so you can walk to the centre from several surrounding neighbourhoods or reach it with a short bus ride or drive.
Hotel Spectrum
Located on Vladimíra Clementisa Street, this hotel offers spacious rooms in several categories, including family accommodation. It has a restaurant, serves breakfast and provides additional services. Various sports facilities and other amenities are nearby. You can walk to the historic centre via the footbridge by the local polyclinic, which leads directly towards the Basilica of St Nicholas. Apartment accommodation in Trnava
Private apartments and short-term rental flats offer an alternative to traditional hotel rooms. Their main advantage is greater privacy and independence. Guests often have their own kitchen or kitchenette, a living area and sometimes a balcony, terrace or private parking.
Apartments are suitable for couples, families with children, groups of friends and visitors staying in Trnava for several nights. Preparing your own meals can help reduce food costs, but many private apartments do not include breakfast, daily housekeeping or a 24-hour reception. Some apartment buildings, however, combine self-catering facilities with additional hotel-style services.
Apartments in Trnava city centre
A private apartment in the historic centre is ideal for visitors who want landmarks, restaurants and city events nearby but prefer the independence of their own space. In Trnava, you can find apartments in historic townhouses as well as modern flats close to the pedestrian zone.
When choosing, pay particular attention to parking, access with luggage and possible street noise. Being able to prepare your own breakfast and return to your apartment at any time during the day without travelling across the city is a major advantage.

Apartments outside Trnava’s historic centre
Apartments outside the old town appeal mainly to visitors seeking a quieter setting, parking or more space for a price comparable to a hotel room. Fully equipped flats for overnight visits, weekend breaks or longer stays can be found in newer apartment buildings and outlying districts of Trnava.
The benefits include greater independence and the freedom to organise your own schedule. Some apartments in the wider city centre are still comfortably walkable, while a car or city bus is more convenient for properties further away.
La Pension
This apartment building on Rybníková Street offers self-catering facilities along with some hotel-style services. Guests can choose from different types of apartments, with breakfast available for an additional charge, parking and a café in the building. It is very close to Aquapark Trnava, the Municipal Sports Hall, the Slávia and Pohoda sports facilities and the historic centre. La Pension is also suitable for longer stays or guests seeking the independence of an apartment without giving up all the conveniences of a hotel.
Prúdy Apartment
This modern apartment on Včelárska Street is in a newer residential development in the wider centre of Trnava. It has a separate bedroom, living space, kitchen, balcony and air conditioning. Where to stay in Trnava: recommendations for every type of visit
The most suitable place to stay is not necessarily the largest hotel or the cheapest apartment. It depends on whether you are travelling alone, as a couple, with your family or on business, how you plan to get around and which services you expect. The recommendations below will help narrow down your choice.
For maximum comfort and wellness
For guests who want a comfortable room, breakfast, restaurant, bar and relaxation facilities all in one place, we recommend Holiday Inn Trnava. The hotel offers wellness facilities and a fitness centre, while its central location lets you explore most of the city on foot. Before booking, check whether wellness access and other services cost extra.
For practical accommodation at a reasonable price
If you are staying briefly, plan to spend most of the day exploring and mainly need a place to sleep, Hotel Spectrum may be a good solution. It offers different room types, breakfast and a restaurant, and is within walking distance of the historic centre. It is worth comparing its current price with other properties.
For a peaceful guesthouse
For visitors seeking a quiet residential location without extensive hotel services, Oáza Guesthouse is worth considering. It offers small-scale accommodation with a homely atmosphere, a courtyard and parking options. If you prefer to stay right among the historic landmarks while enjoying a more intimate setting, consider Patriot Guesthouse on Jeruzalemská Street.
For privacy and your own kitchen
If you want your own space, independence and the option of cooking, we recommend an apartment in the centre. Wetzlerov dom stands out for its historic building right on Hlavná Street, while Leonardo Apartment offers more space, a terrace and private parking. La Pension is another practical alternative for a longer stay near the centre.
For families or larger groups
Families with children and larger groups often appreciate separate bedrooms, a kitchen and plenty of space. Larger apartments at Wetzlerov dom or Hviezdoslavova Apartments may suit them in the historic centre. If you are happy to stay further away and are travelling by car, Exclusive BIG Apartment in Modranka is another appealing option with a garden and hot tub.
Practical tip: Accommodation prices can vary considerably depending on your dates, occupancy and events in the city. When comparing offers, check whether breakfast, parking, any additional fees and free cancellation are included. The lowest advertised room rate is not always the best overall deal.
Practical tips before booking accommodation in Trnava
Parking at hotels and apartments
If you are arriving by car, check parking arrangements before booking. Some hotels and guesthouses have their own car parks or enclosed courtyards, while others rely on public parking spaces in the city’s parking zones. In the historic centre, parking may be paid, time-limited or restricted to designated spaces.
For private apartments, check whether a parking space is actually included in your reservation and where it is located. Some properties advertise free parking but mean public spaces nearby, where availability cannot be guaranteed.
How far is your accommodation from the historic centre?
Trnava’s best-known landmarks are concentrated in a relatively small area. If you stay in the historic centre, you can easily visit the City Tower, Holy Trinity Square, the Basilica of St Nicholas, the Cathedral of St John the Baptist and other major sights on foot. If you stay further out, check the actual walking route rather than just the straight-line distance.
For ideas on what to do, read our guide to things to see in Trnava, featuring the city’s main landmarks, historic streets, squares and other attractions.
Arriving by train or bus
The railway and bus stations are close together, and you can walk from either to the historic centre. If you have large luggage or are staying further away, you can use local buses or taxis. Check your accommodation’s check-in arrangements before travelling, as smaller guesthouses and private apartments may not have a 24-hour reception.
Breakfast, dining and other services
Not every hotel includes breakfast in the room rate, and not every guesthouse serves it. Self-catering is usually expected in apartments, although some apartment buildings also offer breakfast. Before booking, check the specific conditions, kitchen equipment and nearby restaurants or shops.
If you plan to use wellness facilities, massages, parking or other extra services, we recommend checking their price and availability in advance. For private apartments, pay attention to check-in times, key collection, cleaning arrangements and cancellation rules.
